Mr. Malone is the founder and managing director of MJM401k. Prior to MJM401k, Mr. Malone served as a director and
retirement plan consultant with both a regional and a national consulting and advisory firm. Mr.
Malone was a founder and the managing principal of Matthews, Malone & Associates, a leading pension
and 401(k) consulting, actuarial and administrative firm, which was subsequently acquired in the late 1990's.
Mr. Malone is a Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) with the American Society of Pension Professionals &
Actuaries, and is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary Analyst® (AIFA). He is a Past-President and an
immediate-past board member of the Western Pension & Benefits Conference, as well as a member of various
other employee benefits professional groups, including the Arizona Employee Benefits Forum, and previous
memberships in World-at-Work and the New England Employee Benefits Committee. In addition, he is a
past-member of the Board of Directors for the New England chapter of the International Association for
Human Resources Information Management (IHRIM), and is also a past-member of ASPA's Government Affairs
Committee and past-Chairman of its Committee on IRS Enforcement. Mr. Malone has been a frequent author
and lecturer throughout the US and in Europe at industry conferences on the various plan design and plan
investment aspects of pension and 401k arrangements, and has provided expert testimony to the ERISA
Advisory Council at the Department of Labor. His more than twenty-five years of plan consulting experience
covers hundreds of corporate clients and tens of thousands of plan participants.
Originally a Connecticut native, Mr. Malone received his degree in business and finance with honors from
Providence College in Rhode Island. He and his wife Ann and their seven children reside in Phoenix, Arizona.
