Michael J. Malone, CPC, AIFA, Managing Director
Mr. Malone is the founder and managing director of MJM401k. Prior to forming MJM401k, Mr. Malone served as a director and retirement plan consultant with both a regional and a national consulting firm.
Mr. Malone is a Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) with the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries and an Accredited Investment Fiduciary Analyst™ (AIFA). Mr. Malone was the 2011 recipient of the 401(k) Advisor Leadership Award, a national award sponsored by Morningstar, Inc. and the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA). He is a Past-President and a past board member of the Western Pension & Benefits Conference, and was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award by that organization in 2008. He is also a member of various other local and national employee benefits professional groups. In addition, he is a past-member of ASPPA’s Government Affairs Committee and past-Chairman of its Committee on IRS Enforcement. For over twenty-five years, Mr. Malone has been a frequent author and lecturer throughout the U.S. at industry conferences on the various plan design and plan investment aspects of pension and 401(k) plans. He has provided expert testimony to the ERISA Advisory Council at the Department of Labor, as well to other government entities. His plan consulting experience began in the years just following ERISA and has continued ever since, covering hundreds of corporate clients and tens of thousands of plan participants.
Mr. Malone, a native of Connecticut, received his degree in business and finance with honors from Providence College in Rhode Island. He and his wife Ann and their seven children reside in Phoenix, Arizona.
Bud Green, AIF, CIMA, Chief Investment Officer and Principal Consultant
Mr. Green, MJM401k’s Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and a principal consultant, is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary™ (AIF) with over twenty years of experience in financial analysis, portfolio management, and retirement plan consulting.
Prior to MJM401k, Mr. Green was the founder of Interactive Capital Management, a SEC Registered Investment Advisor. In the early 1990s, he merged Interactive Capital into TRI-AD Capital Management, a Registered Investment Advisor. At TRI-AD, he became one of the first consultants in the country to provide independent, flat-fee investment consulting services to 401(k) plans. He holds a degree in Economics from the University of California at Davis, and is a frequent lecturer whose insights into retirement plans have appeared in numerous national journals and publications. He also received the prestigious Eddy Award from Pension & Investments Magazine for his work on participant communications.
Irving M. Isaacson, JD, Senior Consultant and Plan Compliance Specialist
Mr. Isaacson is a recognized expert in matters of plan design, ERISA compliance, and plan provider search & analysis. Prior to joining MJM401k, Mr. Isaacson served as a trust officer for two major banks, as an employee benefit consultant for a Big Four national accounting firm, and as a retirement plan specialist for a large bundled investment provider. Mr. Isaacson’s extensive knowledge of ERISA and the qualified plan marketplace has benefited his numerous consulting clients and their employees over his past 20 years in the industry.
With an undergraduate degree from Stanford University and a law degree from the University of Iowa, Mr. Isaacson is active in a variety of employee benefit organizations, including the Western Pension & Benefits Conference, where he previously served as president.
